What do you guys think Pottermore is?

ETA (Before I even posted this, fail, heh): There's a website here that might be it (HPANA explains. Sort of.) But  I hope it's not just a website...

I WISH it was the encyclopedia, but because it said it wasn't a book ... I don't know. Maybe a MMORPG? That seems to be a popular theory over at Leaky. I hope not, because I don't play those. What do you think it is?

I really hope it's not a social networking site too...although that's what some rumors seem to be pointing to. That would have been really popular maybe 6 years ago, but now...not so much, I don't think.

I'm trying my best to not get excited because it just feels like setting myself up for disappointment. Jo has never disappoiinted me, so there's really no precedent for that, but Mugglenet sort of set up expectations that can't be met, didn't it? They said it would be "equally exciting" as a new book. I'm not that thrilled with any sort of social networking idea, and as much as an MMORPG would be great (though I really can't see that being it), it's still not a book. An online encyclopedia would be fantastic, but again, I'd prefer a print one.

As I said on tumblr, the only way this could be equally exciting as a new book would be if Jo announced that the Wizarding World is actually real and that all of our Hogwarts owls are just slightly late.

I'm totally confused as to what this could be. I was thinking an online encyclopedia or something, but then people argued that she wanted to release it in book form, so... Honestly, I'm just sitting back and waiting to see :P

The released e-books of the complete Harry Potter books.

An interactive school yearbook of the Marauder's era, with little biographies and tidbits on every character. Or the current era.

The long-hidden away first draft of book seven, which was going to feature a compelling and dramatically different plot, before a leak/a copyright lawsuit/a fan's speculation that hit too close to the mark forced her to rewrite from scratch, forever regretting the first draft hidden from the sunlight forever.

A recipe for butterbeer to make at home.

A list of the 10 fanfictions that JKR has read and deemed worthy to receive her honors; not quite on the level of canon, but she will approve of them nonetheless.

... The article I read on the subject was leaning heavily towards ebooks. That's where my money is. If I was going to put any money on this.

The only thing I'd consider exiting, or even interesting, would be the erelease of The Scottish Book.

Of course, Jo announcing she was starting a new serirs, but this time she would use Betas and editors, would be pretty good news as well.
